Why rec'd?: Okay, so White Collar fandom has a lot of sick Neal fics. A lot. But this one stands out to me. A huge part of what makes it so wonderful is the inclusion of Jones and Diana. Happy, slightly dysfunctional White Collar Family never fails to push my buttons in just the right way, and this is a wonderful example of that. There's great humor as well that's handled with a really deft touch. (I find Jones's feud with Satchmo to be hilarious.) And of course, there's all the usual appeal of sick Neal fics: vulnerable Neal, Peter allowing himself to be tender, El being awesome, all the stuff you'd want if you were looking for sick fic. Add what could optionally be seen as some pre-OT3 moments, and you've got something for everyone.
