Title: Fortunate Son
Author:
gaelicspirit
Spoilers: Set vaguely in season 2
Characters: Neal, Peter, gen
Pairings: (if appropriate) none
Warning: none
Summary: Caught in the demolition of an abandoned building, Peter and Neal are hurt, trapped, and running out of time. But it's in those moments they realize that it's not enough to know what someone is. To learn who they are, they have to ask the big questions.
Why rec'd?
Because this is
gaelicspirit's first try in White Collar and this tightly crafted, emotionally satisfying story deserves a disgustingly huge amount of comments to entice this popular Supernatural fanfic writer to play in this sandbox.
The writer kept our characters in a closed one spot setting that should feel claustrophobic and yet their conversation as they wait for rescue, opens up a realm of possibilities. The writer's not handicapped by the fact Fortunate Son is his/her first White Collar fic. Oh no, you could feel Peter's anxiety and fear with him for Neal's life. The dialogue, characterizations and comfort had me writhing in envy on how effortless it leaps off the pages (er, screen)
